Watching TV while on a Treadmill

Standard practice in every Gym is to place a TV in front of the Treadmill machines. The goal is simple – to keep boredom off your brain and do those regular 15 to 20 minutes of running. This is true running on a treadmill can be boring a lot, but placing a TV in front of you while you are trying to maintain running rhythm on a moving belt ? … Well that can be a bit of a problem.

Some people, or let say most of them, prefer TV in front of their treadmill machine and have no problem with it at all. Those are people with good experience on treadmill running. But some are not that experienced on a treadmill and a thing like TV in font of their faces can cause treadmill catapulting.

The purpose of running on a treadmill is to get the heart rate pumping a bit faster and stronger; to get you sweat; to toughen those legs and etc. A treadmill is not a workout so that you can kill time or to say that you have done the running for today. When you are on a tread mill, be on the treadmill. Concentrate on the running and breathing. Feel the belt under you feet and keep up with the rhythm. If you are watching TV then you are not fully concentrated. The body won’t work for you if you are not concentrated and focused. Believed or not, he has the right to be.

Don’t watch TV when you are on a treadmill. Focus! Concentrate! If you don’t want to be bored, listen to some music on your mp3 player. It will definitely boost your adrenalin and motivation.
