Warming up before exercising is crucial, no doubt about that. Before working out, the body needs to be warmed up really good in order for it to perform the way it should be. Warming up increases the blood flow, ‘wakes up’ the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles; in basically wakes up the important parts of the body where bones are joined together. With proper warming up, their movements are not compromised at all.
Here are some warm up exercises before workout which require at least 5 minutes of your time.
- Feel free to stretch your body by hanging on a pull-ups barattached to the ceiling. Separate this stretching in couple of sets. And in those sets, twist your body from side to side slowly so that the waist and backbone will be stretched and warmed up as well.
Basically, warm up exercises before workout must bring sweat to your forehead. When you sense a couple of drops of sweat on your forehead, that means the body is ready to workout. Maintain body heat as you workout with 2-3 minutes of break between sets. Don’t get distracted by anything in the gym, otherwise you’ll lose track of time and those 2-3 minutes of break will increase to 10 minutes. A cooled down body does not deliver effective workout results.
